Accounting & Business Operations Manager

ALL Power Labs is the world’s foremost innovator in portable biomass energy. We manufacture them in-house and ship to all corners of the world.  We have a relaxed atmosphere and are looking for someone with professional experience that can also be comfortable in a production-shop setting. The position is based in Berkeley, CA, and is required to be in the office at least three days per week.

The Accounting & Business Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that all company internal operations and accounting transactions are managed in an accurate and timely manner. This includes day-to-day accounting functions in Quickbooks Online, human resources support, facilities and risk management, and support on special projects such as due diligence, historical cleanup, and setting up new processes and programs.

We are evolving from our startup phase so while key systems are in place, we expect the Manager to assist in the development of improved processes in the general business operations of the company, while staying on top of day-to-day activities. There is lots of room for growth at this alternative-energy-based startup. Position is ready to start immediately.

Duties & Tasks

  • Maintain transactions level Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable data in Quickbooks Online
  • Run payroll semi-monthly
  • Human resources management including maintaining employee files, setting up benefits programs, and supporting performance management and internal communications
  • Set up and maintain electronic company filing systems
  • Set up and maintain corporate insurance, workers comp, etc.
  • Assists in other business operations functions and special projects as necessary.


  • 1 to 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • A good understanding of GAAP Principles and the ability to put them into practice
  • Experience with inventory management, project management, and manufacturing environments
  • Experience with project and grant accounting preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Suite, and Quickbooks Online
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
