Biodico at Red Rocks
Ranch

A Power Pallet PP25 CHP biomass gasification genset was supplied thanks to a CEC grant to Biodico to be run in partnership with Red Rocks Ranch in central Califonia.

2014

Powertianer at University of Minnesota

A containerized biomass gasification system was developed by scaling up the Power Pallet gasifier to fuel a 100 kW Cummins genset. A prototype was designed and installed at the University of Minnesota with the support of Cummins and UMM and a grant from the US Department of Energy.

2015

Swirl Hearth Development

A Proprietary swirl hearth, a patented solution for increased separation of gases during the pyrolysis process, was developed with support from a Nation Science Foundation grant to improve tar cracking and increase biochar output, allowing a wider range of feedstock variation and improved char quality.

2016

Combined Cooling, Heat, and Power Hybrid Power Pallet

The first containerized Power Pallet system was developed with support from the California Energy Commission pairing a cooling system with existing technology to develop a portable combined cooling, heat, and power system, influencing future design decisions and product lines.

The first containerized Power Pallet system was developed with support from the California Energy Commission pairing a cooling system with existing technology to develop a portable combined cooling, heat, and power system, influencing future design decisions and product lines. Deployed in-field, the site converted post-burn wood into locally applied biochar and had a grid connection with a battery bank, solving multiple problems for a wildfire-impacted community.

2016

Chartainer

Development of the Chartainer, a commerical-scale biomass processing unit built into a portable, multimodal shipping container and targeted to produce 250 kg of biochar soil ammendment per hour.

2016

Containerized Dual PP30

A Dual PP30 containerized unit was installed at a resource conservation district site to provide off-grid power in a remote, rural community with a goal of improving the economics of forestry waste processing by placing portable processing systems near to where the waste is generated and collected.

A Dual PP30 containerized unit was installed at a resource conservation district site to provide off-grid power in a remote, rural community with a goal of improving the economics of forestry waste processing by placing portable processing systems near to where the waste is generated and collected, supported by system’s ability to export electircal power to off-grid communites. 2017

EU Business accelerator

EU-based staff participated in a high level business accelerator and networking platform that allowed for the development of the EU based business model and the creation of all the necessary business documents.

2017

CAL FIRE Forest Health in Mendocino

Continuing development of the dual Power-Pallet-based containerized system was expanded to address drought-related tree die offs in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California..

Continuing development of the dual Power-Pallet-based containerized system was expanded to address drought-related tree die offs in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California, the scale of which causes elevated wildfire risk. Placing systems adjacent to areas designated in need of remediation provides a profit base via grid-tied electricity generation to accelerate and expand the rate of needed forest waste reduction.

2018

Water Abundance XPrize

The Water Abundance XPrize which required generation of 2,000 liters of water in 24 hours from the atmosphere at a combined operating and capital cost of no more than 2 cents per liter was won by The Sky Source/Skywater® Alliance

The Water Abundance XPrize which required generation of 2,000 liters of water in 24 hours from the atmosphere at a combined operating and capital cost of no more than 2 cents per liter was won by The Sky Source/Skywater® Alliance in partnership with ALL Power Labs by creating the WEDEW system, a renewably powered version of the Skywater adiabatic distillation atmospheric water generator using APL’s gasifier-fueled power systems. The required 72 hour run was completed at APL’s facilty in Berkeley.

2018

Valley Ventures Accelerator

Valley Ventures, a business accelerator hosted by Cal State Frenso’s WET Center included APL among a number of innovative startups providing agriculture, energy, and water solutions.

Revising the existing Power Pallet platform by entirely redesigning several subsystems, two new product lines were developed: the Containerized Biomass Microgrid, a drop-in solution for novel microgrid applications, and the Charpallet, an off-grid biomass conversion unit that provides heat and high yields of biochar.

2020

Hybrid renewable microgrid with community biochar distribution

In a partnership with The Plant and EPIC in Yonkers NY, a Power Pallet Hybrid Biomass Microgrid Container was planned to be added to their energy and demonstration infrastructure.

In a partnership with The Plant and EPIC in Yonkers NY, a Power Pallet Hybrid Biomass Microgrid Container was planned to be added to their energy and demonstration infrastructure. The goal was to develop and model a pilot system of carbon network hubs with biomass supply chains, placement of conversion equipment, and biochar distribution sites. To maximize carbon sequestrtation via the multiplier effects of biochar co-composting, distribution was arranged with a network of community gardens who were granted compost tumblers and a continuing supply of biochar along with hands-on instruction on the benefits of cocomposting food and plant waste with biochar.

2021

At ALL Power Labs, we’re redefining what’s possible with biomass energy through a decade of pioneering projects that span renewable microgrids, biochar innovation, and atmospheric water generation. From wildfire recovery solutions in California to award-winning water-from-air technology and international carbon sequestration pilots, our work combines clean energy with real-world impact. Backed by over $11 million in grant funding and collaborations with leading institutions, we continue to design scalable, community-powered systems that transform waste into power, resilience, and opportunity.
