FFR&D is a permaculture and renewable energy project located in Victoria, Australia. Their mission includes reducing wildfire fuel loads, improving forest management, and accelerating the transition to low‑carbon transportation technologies. In collaboration with APL they are developing an integrated hybrid‑electric truck platform that uses sustainable forestry residues as a renewable energy source capable of converting waste wood into clean power through advanced gasification, while simultaneously producing biochar as a carbon‑negative co‑product. APL is enabling this development by providing access to its GEN3 CharPallet gasification technology and sharing our resources to assist FFR&D’s innovation goals, and to support them in their development of a novel, carbon‑negative technology.
