This is Father’s Day weekend so we hope you will consider planning a father-and-son/daughter trip to All Power Labs for our workshop. It has been too long since our last workshop. Our first quarter 2011 workshop in the Ivory Coast was canceled due to political unrest. Then we found ourselves too busy building in-house to have one in the spring. So we’re now giving you lots of notice for our summer workshop. ……

The Masonic Method: How to Operate a Downdraft Gasifier
Driving a gasifier is hard. Proper hearth dimensioning and good fuel is important, but not enough to guarantee success. Most of us learn an informed operator is also needed. In fact, an informed operator is often the most important variable on the road to success. Unfortunately, it is also the variable that varies the most. Things would be much easier if we had the equivalent of a “speedometer” and “tachometer” to guide the operator. Something like a car where we have a gauge that tells us how fast we are going, and another gauge that tells us how hard we’re……

GEK turns 100, and APL introduces the “TOTTI”
Here’s the latest news from All Power Labs and our ongoing work in gasification. We’re happy to announce the sale of our 100th unit, and even happier to unveil our latest design innovation, the “Tower Of Total Thermal Integration”, (aka: the “Hot TOTTI”) and point you in the direction of some of our testing data of late. GEK turns 100 Actually, make that 107. We’ve just sold the 107th GEK, a pretty incredible number considering we started just over a year ago trying to help give people tools for open source power hacking.
